Project 365 - Day 220 - 7th November 2010 - Vivaldi Gloria Bows

For the past 3 years Lady Manners School and S Anselm's School (both in Bakewell, Derbyshire) have done a joint concert which has included a "come and sing" choral work as part of it. In previous years this has been Faure Requiem and Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs. This year we tackled Vivaldi's ever-popular Gloria.

The concert was a great success and included performances from Lady Manners School Orchestra (which I conduct), S Anselm's Chapel Choir (conducted by Jon Weller) and a piano solo by Andrew Marples.

The Vivaldi made up the second half and only uses a small orchestra - strings plus an oboe, a trumpet and a harpsichor). It went well and the audience seemed to enjoy it!
