On it is says:
"Erected by Voluntary Subscription
to the Memory of
Police Constable Arthur Wright
who lost his life by drowning whilst
attempting to save another
March 27th 1911
Refurbished and Rededicated 21rd March 1997 to commemorate the centenary of the Derbyshire Constabulary Mutual Welfare Fund"
